Kilbroney River Cottage
Welcomes You

A beautifully restored cottage located in the picturesque village of Rostrevor, County Down, on the shores of Carlingford Lough.

About Us

Kilbroney River Cottage occupies a very special position at the Kilbroney River and Fairy Glen, in the heart of Rostrevor Village, County Down.

The cottage dates back some 150 years, with former uses recorded as a residential cottage and small builder's yard. The property has been lovingly and sympathetically restored, bringing it back to its former glory, and so much more. The restoration was completed in 2021 and we are so excited to share this wonderful piece of history with you.

The cottage consists of two parts, the original stone cottage and new extension. The old and new blend seamlessly to create a wonderfully charming and peaceful space you will not want to leave.

The original cottage, with original stone walls and sympathetic Victorian style windows, now contains the two bedrooms of the property. Both bedrooms have zip and link beds which can be arranged to make either two singles or one super-king.

The new addition to the cottage contains the entrance hallway, open plan living, dining and kitchen area, as well as a bathroom with waterfall shower.

There is a small walled and gated courtyard to the side of the cottage, with seating area and parking. To the rear of the property is a small laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, for your convenience.

If you can tear yourself away from the cottage, you will find bars, restaurants and coffee shops all only a few minutes walk away. If you are feeling a bit more active, the Mourne area boasts a host of activities including hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, cycling, tennis, golf, water sports, horse riding and archery, to name but a few.

So book with us today and enjoy this amazing part of the world from a very special little cottage.
